Singing Audition for "Anastasia" Play
Casting call for singing roles in "Anastasia" play. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Anastasia is a musical with a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, based on the 1997 animated film. It tells the story of Anya, an amnesiac orphan in Russia who, with the help of two con men, journeys to Paris to discover if she is the lost Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, all while being pursued by a Soviet officer. The stage version grounds the story in historical realism, removing the animated film's fantasy elements like Rasputin and Bartok, and focuses on themes of identity, memory, and finding family amidst the Russian Revolution. Additional info: For your audition, you are asked to prepare a song that displays your vocal ability. You may also be asked to do a cold read from the script.
