About the project: A milestone in the American theatre, this intensely affecting drama chronicles how a financial windfall touches the lives of an African-American family living in Chicago in the late fifties. As the simple desire for a home of their own becomes the touchstone of heartbreak, sacrifice, trust, and love, their story becomes a heroic struggle to hold a world together. Additional info: No prepared monologue. Sides will be performed and sent before your audition date. Please be familiar with the show and characters, and plan to stay a few minutes after your time, as you may audition with others. Please bring a headshot, a resume, and all possible conflict dates.
