Singing Audition for "Annie" Play
Casting call for singing roles in the "Annie" play. See the details below. About the project: Leapin’ Lizards! We are looking forward to casting our summer musical Annie. This beloved family musical brings its heart and humor to the Cedar Valley. Set in 1930s New York, this timeless tale follows a plucky orphan whose unwavering optimism transforms the lives of everyone she meets. With toe-tapping tunes, lovable characters, and a message of hope that resonates across generations we look forward to casting a diverse group of actors to play these memorable characters. Additional info: For the vocal/music auditions: Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song using a track or recorded accompaniment only, no acapella singing. The vocal line should be removed from the track/recording so that we can clearly hear you singing. You may bring your own Bluetooth speaker or use one of ours, but please avoid playing solely off the phone speaker. If auditioning for the role of Annie or any of the orphans, be prepared to range test (check how high and low you can sing). For the dance/movement audition: Please be prepared to learn a dance section to music. Please come prepared to move freely. For the acting audition: You will perform cold readings of selections from the musical. These “cold readings” are expected to be acted out but do not have to be memorized. If you are interested please apply.
