About the project: Set during the Great Depression, Annie is a beloved musical about a spirited young orphan in 1930s New York who escapes a cruel orphanage to find her parents, only to charm her way into the heart of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. Annie is a complex, tough, streetwise urchin who is surprisingly vulnerable when she thinks she might lose what has become most important to her: her newfound "family." We are looking for a spunky, energy-filled actress, who can be independent, confident, and hopeful. We will be casting two Annie’s. Each Annie will perform 4 performances. Actresses wishing to be cast of Annie must be willing to alter their hair (dye, braids, extensions, etc). Annie must be comfortable with dogs.
The Orphans are gritty girls that are neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and lovable. We are looking for orphans who can have fun together and have a little bit of a mischievous streak. Each actress should be able to shape her own distinct character, be a good singer and visually expressive.
