A classic nerd. Pete tries to fly under the radar by wearing a bowtie and suspenders as a "tapestry of trauma" to avoid being bullied with worse nicknames. He is self-deprecating and surprisingly funny.
A popular senior and the rebellious daughter of Hatchetfield's mayor. She runs with the cheerleaders but secretly resents the pressure of her status and her father's political expectations. She has a hidden soft spot for the underdogs.
An incredibly anxious, anime-loving geek at Hatchetfield High. He serves as the school mascot, Zeek the Fightin' Nighthawk, and constantly lives in terror of the school bullies.
A starved-for-affection teenage loser. She is a highly anxious theater techie who runs the light board, wears headgear, and is desperate for any kind of positive attention.
Max's football-playing cronies. They act as Max's goons, but beneath their tough-guy exteriors, they are easily intimidated followers who might actually prefer a locker room built on trust and consent rather than fear.
Stephanie's queen-bee and ditzy cheerleader friends. They are obsessed with status, the football team, and high school gossip.
Evil, eldritch deities that take the form of chaotic, dancing teenagers. They are sadistic, hungry, and gleefully manipulative.
