About the project: "Shrek the Musical" follows Shrek, a grumpy but good-hearted ogre whose quiet swamp is overrun by fairy-tale characters banished by the power-hungry Lord Farquaad. Determined to get his home back, Shrek sets off with the talkative Donkey on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona so Farquaad can become king. Along the way, Fiona confronts a life-changing secret, Shrek challenges society’s idea of “normal,” and the story celebrates individuality, acceptance, and the meaning of true inner beauty. Additional info: Possible callbacks (invitation only) begin at TBD at Ralston High School Rehearsals: TBD Performances: July 10-July 27. Performances on Friday, Saturday, Sunday Performers must be available for all performances. Singing: All auditioners should prepare 32 bars of a song from a stylistically similar show (rock ‘n’ roll music) Please bring sheet music for the collaborative pianist. Dancing: Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a dance audition. The dance will be taught at auditions. Acting: Will do an acting audition at callbacks on TBD.
