About the project: The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Me,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the title number, The Sound of Music, won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Additional info: Please note: there is a production fee applied. Callbacks: (same day) March 1 (4pm+) at And All That Jazz! PAC Prepare to sing and dance. Ages 6-17 may audition. *Well-behaved 5-year-olds may be considered for the role of Gretl. Sign up for an audition appointment, or just show up, and we will assign you an audition group with an open time slot. Choose a Musical Theatre song in the style of the show. Sing along with an instrumental track (no lead vocals on the track). Keep your vocal selection to one minute or less (32 Bars). Bring an electronic device (phone, iPad, etc.) to the audition, with your instrumental track ready to play. The directors will connect the device to our speakers to play for your audition. Wear comfortable, stretchy, athletic clothing and shoes for dancing (jazz shoes, sneakers, etc).
