Brian is a standard “guy,” he’s a bit on the nerdy side, but not to the point that anyone would call him that. He likes Marvel movies and sports and holds both in equal stature. He likes being with Elaine because she’s demonstrably cooler than him.
Elaine is a bit cooler than Brian. She doesn’t find him intellectually stimulating, but he’s good for a laugh. She finds satisfaction in art and mixing that with psychedelia. She could be reasonably described as “beatnik"
