Casting Call for Children for "The Prince of Egypt"

About the project: Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever. The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.” Additional info: All must arrive promptly by 10:00 α.M. As the audition dance will be taught to everyone and observed by the creative team, followed immediately by vocal auditions. Scene work will only be required if you are asked for a callback. Please wear comfortable, dance-appropriate clothes and shoes. Also, please prepare to sing 16-32 bars of any song from the show. You may bring a musical track on your device since an accompanist will not be provided. Anyone only auditioning for the roles of Pharaoh Seti, Queen Tuya, Nefertari, or a choir member may arrive for just the vocal auditions at 11:30 a.M. Since these roles will not dance, nor will they double as ensemble. All other roles will be required to dance (dance corps) or rhythmically move (ensemble and all other named characters). This production will be cast with attention to superior talent, availability, and diversity. Rehearsals will typically run Monday-Thursday with some Fridays and Saturdays as needed, from March 2nd to April 23. Performances run Friday - Sunday, April 24 - May 17. Please only audition if you can commit (with minimal conflicts) to this rehearsal process and performance schedule. Be prepared to list all conflicts you may have.
