Kids Needed for "Seussical" The Musical

Seeking ages 8 and up for "Seussical," the musical. Please see the details below. About the project: The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. Additional info: Audition requirements: 32 Bars of a song that best reflects your voice. Songs from the show are welcome but are not required for the audition. Please bring your sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist. If you are singing a song from the show, you still need your sheet music for your audition. Auditioners 15 years and younger are required to sing "Alone in the Universe from the show measures 45-80. PDF available in the attachment. Cold readings from select excerpts of the script will be provided at the auditions. Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals will be held on Sundays at 2:00 PM and Mondays and Wednesday at 7:00 PM. When auditioning, please make sure to include all conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule. 3. Show dates are Tech week will be May 31 - June 3. June 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21.
