About the project: School of Rock – The Musical is a high-energy, two-act show (plus intermission) that follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he transforms a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping rock band—all while trying to keep his secret from parents and the school’s headmistress. Additional info: Performance Dates June 18 – 7:00 PM June 20 – 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM June 21 – 2:00 PM June 26 – 7:00 PM June 27 – 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM June 28 – 2:00 PM Note: No performance on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth Prepare 1 minute of a song of your choice (any style). Choose a song you love and feel confident performing. An accompanist will be provided. Bring clearly marked sheet music with piano accompaniment. No dance call will be held at auditions. Onstage Band Auditions If you are auditioning for the onstage band, you will have a band audition immediately following your singing audition. Guitar & Bass: Please bring your own instrument Drums & Keyboard: Instruments will be provided Prepare a song of your choice to perform Callbacks Saturday, February 28 Time: Noon–3:00 PM Not all auditioners will be called back. He impersonates a teacher to land a job at the prestigious Horace Green prep school, where he turns his class of straight-A students into a rock group and enters them in the Battle of the Bands.
