About the project: The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau. Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! Additional info: Callbacks (By Invitation Only): - TBA Rehearsals: - Rehearsals are Monday through Friday from 7PM to 10PM - Bring your calendar to auditions. Everyone may not be required to attend every rehearsal, but all conflicts must be approved before casting. Performance Dates (MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCE DATES): - Weekends starting Saturday, May 28th, 2026, running Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through the end of June, 2026 The Audition: - Please bring a resume and headshot if you have one. (Not required.) - Actors of all ethnicities, and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Everyone must be able to move well. Singers, Dancers, and Singer/Dancers welcome! - Singers - please come prepared to sing one minute of a Broadway, Rock, or Pop style song. Bring an accompaniment on a device that can connect through Bluetooth to the speaker. You will learn a simple movement routine, so be dressed to move. - Dancers - you will learn a choreo routine and may be asked to demonstrate special skills or a variety of dance styles.
