About the project: Set in the bathroom of Manhattan’s Summit hotel on September night in 1976, Bella Abzug hides out as she waits for the results of her bid to become New York’s first ever woman senator. In her fiery, no-nonsense and humorous style Bella invites the audience to join her journey. She shares stories of the experiences that brought her to this exact moment, her passion for making a better world, and the incredibly high stakes of what it means to win or lose power in the fight for equality and inclusion. CALLBACKS: Monday, January 12th, 6:30-9:30 Actors will be asked to 1) Read a one to three-minute passage from the script. (Sides will be provided ahead of time via email.) 2) Recount a brief personal story about a time that they stood up against injustice or unfairness. 3) Share one favorite fun fact about Bella Abzug. 4) Please bring a copy of your headshot and resume.
