Seeking Kids for "School of Rock" Musical
Kids ages 10-13 are welcome to audition for "School of Rock". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The The musical is based on the hit 2003 movie that follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star, decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress, finding out? Additional info: CALLBACKS: Monday, January 12th @ 7:00 pm @ ALT Adventure Space REHEARSAL PERIOD March 9, 2026 - May 17, 2026 7:00-10:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, with some weekend dance rehearsals, and the possibility of some 6 pm/6:30 pm weekday rehearsals. (The director will distribute a detailed rehearsal schedule for all actors.) TECH WEEK/DRESS REHEARSALS: April 26-30, 2026 Crew integration, cue-to-cue, tech rehearsals. Required attendance. PERFORMANCES: April 30 - May 17, 2026, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows at 7:30 pm, Sunday shows at 2:30 pm. NOTE: Actors must be able to commit to all performance dates & tech/dress rehearsals. PLAYS GUITAR. Male presenting. Zack is angry that his dad doesn’t listen to him and has a passion for music ready to burst out from inside of him. He knows he has more in him than he has ever been able to show. Pop/Rock Singer who moves well. Needs to seriously ‘shred’ on guitar, with exceptional solo skills.
PLAYS PIANO. Male presenting. A shy, under confident boy, but a genius on the keyboard, who needs a free spirit like Dewey to lead him into the light. Pop/Rock Singer who moves well. Serious piano skills needed.
PLAYS DRUMS. Freddie has lots of energy ready to be let out. He’s not as posh as some of his classmates and his Dad always reminds him how lucky he is to go to such a good school. KILLER DRUMMER with a LOT of personality. Pop/Rock Singer who moves well.
PLAYS BASS GUITAR. A cool, collected girl, Katie is distinguished by her talent for the bass. Pop/Rock Singer who moves well. Guitarists, cellists and violinists are encouraged to apply.
