Casting Teen Performers for "The Diary of Anne Frank" Play
Casting call for teens for “The Diary of Anne Frank” play — details provided below. About the project: Based on the autobiographical book "The Diary of a Young Girl," this powerful new stage adaptation by Wendy Kesselman presents the historic figure of Anne Frank as a living, lyrical, intensely gifted girl. She confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with honesty, wit and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding in a concealed attic space during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, "The Diary of Anne Frank" captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence – their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of the two dark years, Anne's voice shines through: "When I write, I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!" This play is a new adaptation for a new generation. Additional info: Those auditioning for character roles will be provided with selections from the script for reading. Performances are scheduled two weekends, Feb. 27, 28, March 1, 6, 7, 8, 2026.
