2 roles
(Soprano): The seven-year-old son of the family. He’s precocious and innocent, and he loves throwing things off the back of the wagon. Often lost in his own world, his least favorite activity is killing animals and his favorite activity is skinny dipping (although he’s never tried it). The rest of his family will be surprised if he successfully makes it to Oregon in one piece.
(Mezzo-Soprano/Soprano): The teenage daughter of the bunch, she sets out on the trail looking for love. At first intrigued by, then later kidnapped by, McDoon (The Bandit King), Daughter eventually learns the meaning of stranger danger. She loves her family, but god, she can’t stand them (especially her mother). Bold and inquisitive, she’s armed with a little bloodlust and a whole lot of naivete.
