About the project: Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed on a bare stage with minimal props, the play depicts the daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and grow older. The simple story of blossoming love is constantly rediscovered because it asks timeless questions about the meaning of love, life and death. Additional info: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and a group theatrical exercise. Please be familiar with the script prior to auditioning and come ready to interact with your fellow auditioners. Tentative rehearsal schedule overview – Sundays through Thursdays, from 7-10; March 22 – until opening May 1 NO Conflicts accepted during tech week – Sun., April 26 – 30 Show runs May 1 – 17 (Fridays/Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 3) with possible pick-up or additional shows added Thu., May 7 and 14.
