Texan. Jeanie is the overly-anxious, insecure, but hardworking younger sister of Jack. Jeanie grew up too fast, becoming the “woman of the house” at an early age. When Papa fell ill, Jeanie became his caretaker and overworked herself even more. Underneath all of that, she longs to build a life for herself, and quietly dreams of becoming a nurse, though she fears she is too inadequate to do so.
Texan. Jack is a quiet, curious child who’s too young to fully understand his complicated surroundings but old enough to feel them. When his estranged mother returns, he tries desperately to mimic his father’s quiet stoicism, but his longing for his mother conflicts him. His behavior switches between silence and outbursts, unable to properly express his feelings. His inner confusion is ever complicated as he observes his father, his pillar of strength, give in to old emotions.
Texan (Resembles older Jeanie) As a toddler, Jeanie is too young to comprehend her surroundings. When her mother returns, Jeanie, though initially hesitant, quickly becomes attached and treats her as if she’d always been there. She latches on, completely unaware that her mother’s leaving.
Texan (Resembles older Abigail) Abigail is a talkative, clingy, but ultimately lonely child. With older parents and much older siblings, Abigail has no-one to relate to other than Jack, who she develops a childhood obsession with. She dreams of a loving family of her own, in a house amongst a grove of trees, where she’ll never feel lonesome again.
