"Ragtime" Musical Needs Kids and Teens
Seeking actors ages 8 and up for "Ragtime" Musical. Please see the details below. About the project: Ragtime, the award-winning musical by Stephen Flaherty, Lynn Ahrens, and Terrence McNally, intertwines the stories of an upper-class white family, a Jewish immigrant father and daughter, and a Black Harlem musician at the turn of the 20th century. Set against a rapidly changing New York where anything seems possible, their journeys illuminate America’s contradictions—wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair. As Coalhouse Walker Jr.’s quest for justice propels the narrative, each character confronts the limits of their beliefs and the realities of the American dream. Bursting with pageantry and a Tony-winning, stylistically diverse score, Ragtime offers a powerful, hopeful, and deeply human portrait of a nation in transition. Additional info: Strong singers and actors with some previous stage experience required. Please prepare a one-minute selection of a song from the show or any similar Broadway musical. Please provide your own digital accompaniment with no vocal track. PRODUCTION DATES: April 17-19 & 24-26. If interested, please apply.
