About the project: “The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.” Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.” - Music Theater International. Additional info: Performance Dates: March 27 – April 5, 2026 (Including Holidays); tbd Command performances on March 26th and April 2nd. All video submissions MUST be submitted by Sunday January 11 at 3:00 PM. Any submissions after this time may not be considered. What to Prepare/Bring: - A 16–32 bar cut of a musical theatre song. - Sheet music in the correct key (an accompanist will be provided) or tracks if you prefer - Headshot and résumé (if available) - Comfortable attire for movement - All will be expected to sing and perform a cold read as well as participate in a brief dance audition. January 18 - Read Through 5PM (SPCT Lobby), Rehearsals Begin March 20 - Tech Week Begins - There will be ZERO absences allowed from this point forward.
