Teen Auditions for Musical Production "Matilda"

Calling all teens! Auditions for the musical "Matilda" are underway—full details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however - the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Additional info: Auditions will consist of 3 components: cold reads from the script, an a acapella song, and a dance/movement exercise. Please choose a song from the show that best showcases your voice. The movement sequence will be taught during auditions. Please arrive dressed appropriately to move, and please bring water to stay hydrated. Rehearsals will take place Monday through Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting January 5 through February 26, 2026, with extended hours for tech week and some weekends. Performances for this production will be 2/27, 2/28, 3/6, 3/7. 3/12, 3/13. 3/14 at 7:30 PM and Sunday Matinees 3/1 & 3/8 2:00 PM If you are interested please apply.
