"The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" Needs Teens
"The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" Auditions are open to ages 13 and up. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When Captain Jennings’ ship is overtaken by the fearsome Captain Bree and her crew of lady pirates, he struggles to find a way to protect his remaining crew and the wealthy, high-society passengers onboard. Finding that the passengers are the closest thing to a treasure on the ship, Captain Bree and her crew decide to ransom them, but are unaware of the meddling passengers in their midst. Hijinks ensue as one passenger tries to become a pirate, another disguises himself as a girl, hoping to avoid being thrown overboard, and others undermine both captains at every turn. Expect lots of silly songs, sea shanties, and general swashbuckling across the stage and maybe even some romance. Additional info: Please prepare a 60-second monologue and a song with a backing track for auditions. Some auditioners will be asked to do a cold reading. The dance audition will take place on the same day, in a group. Dance Audition Info: For those sending in a virtual audition, please use the videos attached to learn the audition dance. For those who are confident dancers, please use the advanced audition videos. For both the basic and advanced, you’ll find a teaching video, as well as videos with music to practice with. (To be clear, you should not send in videos for both dances. Please prepare the one you are most comfortable with.) For those auditioning in person, the dance combination will be taught in person, but feel free to use the videos to practice at your own pace. Performances March 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 See the attachment for more information and dance videos. If interested, please apply.
