Kids Auditions for "Peter Pan Jr." Show
Seeking children ages 6-14 for the "Peter Pan Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale and featuring an unforgettable score by Morris “Moose” Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Peter Pan is one of the most beloved and frequently performed family favorites of all time. This high-flying, Tony Award-winning musical has been performed around the world and delighted audiences for 60 years, and is now adapted for young performers. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the fierce Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates, and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Additional info: Please prepare a 32-bar (~60-second) cut from a song that fits the style of the show and suits your voice. This is a classic, Golden-aged musical, so please consider singing something from a similar show like The Sound of Music, Camelot, Mary Poppins, Guys and Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, The Wizard of Oz, or Cinderella. Selections from the show are also encouraged. If you are auditioning for a lead who sings high notes, we need to hear you sing high notes! Avoid musicals from very different genres (Chicago, for example, will not tell directors how your voice will fit into this show!) Your audition should be memorized and show your ability to portray the character’s emotions, mannerisms, etc. Dance will not be done until the invitational callback. Please bring a device to play your accompaniment track on, such as a smartphone. Note that a participation fee will be involved. If interested, please apply.
