Kids ages 7-17 are invited to audition for "Matilda Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Matilda JR is the story of an extraordinary little girl with a vivid imagination, sharp mind, and a love of books. Despite being misunderstood and mistreated by her cruel parents and the terrifying headmistress Miss Trunchbull, Matilda discovers her own inner strength—and even a touch of magical powers! With the help of her kind teacher, Miss Honey, Matilda learns that she can stand up for herself and change her destiny. Filled with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs like “Naughty” and “Revolting Children”, and plenty of humor, the show celebrates the power of courage, friendship, and believing in yourself. The hero of the show. Brilliant, resilient, and kind, she rises above her difficult home life by escaping into books. Her sharp mind and a touch of magic help her stand up to the fearsome Miss Trunchbull.
An expressive student at Matilda’s school. He delivers the show’s very first solo line, and also has featured moments with the other schoolmates.
A student with Matilda. She has a few solos and lines, but her most featured moment is when Trunchbull throws her through the air using her pigtails.
One of Matilda’s classmates. He gets in trouble for eating Miss Trunchbull’s cake and becomes part of a big, funny scene. Bruce has some solos and shows how he grows braver during the story.

A kind and cheerful classmate of Matilda. She quickly becomes Matilda’s best friend and shares in her adventures at school.
A sweet and enthusiastic classmate of Matilda. He’s often a little panicked, but he has a few solos and fun featured moments in the show.
Matilda’s father. He’s rude, boastful, and not very bright, but his silly schemes make him a funny character.
Matilda’s mother. She is selfish, obsessed with her looks, and more interested in TV and dancing than her daughter.
Matilda’s brother. He isn’t very bright, but his father adores him. A funny supporting role with deadpan one-liners.
A warm and friendly librarian who enjoys listening to Matilda’s imaginative stories.
A larger-than-life character from Matilda’s imagination. Everything he does is bold, dramatic, and exaggerated, like he’s performing for the whole world to see.
