Theatre is seeking performers for Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery Fundraiser, A Chorus Crime: A Meta Musical Theatre Murder Mystery! See the details below. About the project: This year’s fundraiser will be an interactive, comedic cabaret set at an award show honoring musical theatre icons like Jean Valjean (Les Miserables), Velma Kelly (Chicago), and Mrs. Lovett (Sweeny Todd). As our cast of beloved Broadway characters gather for the celebration…until someone goes missing! An awards show turns to trial and testimony as the audience and iconic characters figure out who committed the crime and try to clear their names. Additional info: WHAT TO BE PREPARED FOR: A vocal audition section A short movement call Light improvisation games PLEASE BRING: A 16 to 32 bar cut (a song selection around a minute long) Sheet music (preferred) or a backing track [accompanist will be provided]. Resume/headshot (If you have one) Local performers will portray iconic musical theatre characters throughout the night. If you have a specific character in mind that you’d like to play, prepare to audition with the appropriate accent and mannerisms. Rehearsals are currently planned for Sunday afternoons from January 4th to February 8th. Individual rehearsals February 2nd, 4th and 6th. Full dress/tech rehearsals Feb 11-13. Show February 14th.
