"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to 5th Period" Needs Teens
Actors ages 10-16 years old are welcome to audition for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to 5th Period." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: To win his freedom from school bully Bugs, smart aleck Tommy offers to help him get a date to the prom with popular actress Stephanie Mezaluna. But the only way to get her attention is to convince her that Bugs is a famous actor in hiding, and as one cover-up leads to another, it's not long before a jock, Steve, is parading as Bug's slick New York agent, and Tommy is stuck trying to get Steve's sister a date to the prom. Of course, prom tickets are only on sale until fifth period -- so Tommy has to act fast and try to control the chaos in this wild high school hallway farce. Additional info: All actors are required to audition with a self-selected, one-minute monologue (which should be memorized). Directors want you to show who you are! Some actors may be asked to read one or more sides provided during the audition. Please dress appropriately and expect to have your photo taken after signing in. Please do not bring props to the audition. Also, the casting committee requests that you do not wear costumes or face paint.
