Looking for kids in grades 4-17 for "Annie Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Step into the spotlight this spring with Annie Jr., a heartwarming musical performed by the talented teens of the Coll Street Players. Join Annie on her journey to find a family and escape the clutches of the horrendous Miss Hannigan. Along the way, she melts the icy heart of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. With beloved characters and iconic songs like “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” this production will leave audiences of all ages smiling. Additional info: Audition Requirements Ages 4-12: Sing either “Happy Birthday” or the “Star Spangled Banner” Perform one monologue from the attachment. Ages 13-17: Prepare a 16-bar cut of a musical theatre song that shows off your range and personality. Pianist will be provided, please bring clearly marked sheet music with a piano part or chord chart [not just the vocal line] in a binder or book. Please do not sing any songs from Annie” or “Annie Jr." at the first audition. Prepare a 1-minute monologue that shows off your personality. Please dress in appropriate attire and wear suitable shoes for the dance audition. Lead A spirited, plucky orphan who clings to hope of finding her parents. She must convey toughness, vulnerability, optimism and charm. Strong acting and singing skills required.
Lead The cruel, cynical matron of the orphanage. She dislikes children, complains about her job, and is comedic in her bitterness. Requires strong comic timing and character work.
Lead / Supporting The dignified, composed secretary to Oliver Warbucks. She shows care and maternal warmth toward Annie, while remaining professional. Requires poise and a lyrical voice.
Lead A wealthy industrialist who gradually grows fond of Annie. Needs to appear confident, authoritative, but softening toward Annie.
Supporting Miss Hannigan’s sly con-artist brother. He and Lily scheme to fake being Annie’s parents. Needs swagger, cunning, comedic presence.
Supporting Rooster’s accomplice/girlfriend; a “gold-digging” type, vain and somewhat scatterbrained. Plays off Rooster for comic effect.
