Teens Needed for Upcoming Shows

Casting performers ages 13 and up for "Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits" and 16 and up for "Godspell". Please see the details below. Additional info: -Be prepared to cold-read from both scripts. -Bring a prepared 2-minute selection of a song (provide back track from your phone or other device) from an appropriate musical theater genre that represents your vocal range. No more than 2 minutes will be allowed per auditioner. "Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits": This is a cabaret-style show comprised of comedic spoofs of popular Broadway hits. The show has been running for more than 40 years, and this set of hits is pulled from its shows in the 1980s through today. There are no main roles, but each "hit" may have leading and supporting parts. This show pulls from famous shows such as Annie, Into the Woods, Hairspray, Rent, and many more. Some parts of the show may incorporate simple dances and movement, but this will not be a high-intensity movement production, and there will be no dance audition. As some of the show's material may include mild cursing and mature subject matter, auditioners must be ages 13 and older. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent to audition, and parents must provide parental consent. Those who do not want to be in a skit with cursing may make that request if cast. Rehearsals and Show Dates: Rehearsals will begin the week of January 4th and run through February. Tech week will be February 22 - 27, and all cast members are required to be available for rehearsals each day of tech. Show dates are February 28th at 7 p.m., March 1 at 4 p.m., March 6 at 7 p.m., and March 14 at 7 p.m. Shows will be performed in Ocean City, Crisfield, and Pocomoke. 1-2 performances may be added, but will not extend beyond March 15. ​"Godspell" This is a musical based on the Gospel of Matthew, featuring a small ensemble cast that, along with Jesus, acts out the parables through songs, dance, and comedy. The show includes some mild dancing and movement requirements. Auditioning for this show is open to all ages 16 years and older.
