Additionla info: Actors should be available not only for evening and weekend performances, but also for several student matinees at 10:15 A.M. and Mainstage matinees at 2:30 P.M. on select Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Deaf and blind. Helen’s frustrations manifest in rage due to her isolation. This is a physically demanding role that will require some fight choreography, so actors with any sports or gymnastic experience are encouraged to audition. Actors auditioning for this role are asked to prepare a 1-minute piece where they enter a room and (as a young blind girl) search for a doll they left there.
Daughter and son of Viney, who is a servant in the Keller household. They play regularly with Helen and are somewhat tolerant of her outbursts. Percy is especially tolerant and even allows Helen to stick her fingers in his mouth as she tries to understand speech. Actors auditioning for these roles will be asked to read from the script and sides will be provided.
