Amanda, a high school senior, comes home late one night to find her TV mysteriously playing a show called Mandy’s World — a bizzare sitcom about her own life. Each night, the show airs new “episodes” that track her every move, narrated by an eerie host who knows her most private thoughts. As Amanda becomes increasingly haunted by the program, she’s forced to confront her fear that she's losing grip not only of her own identity, but of reality itself. Horror. Please submit a SELF-TAPE and a HEADSHOT To audition for LAURA, your self-tape must contain a one to two minute monologue which you feel is appropriate for the character. This actress must play two characters - Amanda, and her TV alter ego, Mandy. Amanda is an observant, slightly tomboyish girl who struggles with understanding her own identity. She has a rebellious streak as she tries to break way from her mother, sneaking out to parties and dating Laura. Mandy is the utterly perfect high school mean girl -- gorgeous, cruel, and in complete control of herself. (Think Jennifer from Jennifer's Body.) LONG HAIR IS PREFFERED.
Laura exudes kindness and warmth -- she feels comfortable in every situation, and wants to make sure everyone else does, too. She's emotionally intelligent, and effortlessly confident. There's a depth to her - a sense that she's been hurt in the past, but continues meeting the world with open arms anyway. To put it simply, Laura's stable, easygoing, and very cool. Supporting Role.
