"The Prince of Egypt" Child and Teen Audition for the Theater
Casting children and teens for the theater production "The Prince of Egypt". See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Please print and complete the attached audition form and bring it with you to your audition. A photo of YOU should be stapled in the upper right hand corner of your audition form. VOCALS: Prepare a song of your choice that will showcase your range and vocal abilities. 16-32 bars or not longer than 1 minute in length. Children are welcome to sing "Happy Birthday" or something that is short in duration and familiar to them. Everyone will sing acapella (no accompaniment). Please watch the video in the attachment, follow the tutorial as you rehearse at home, and come to your audition ready to demonstrate the choreography. Actors will dance in small groups of 2-5 during their audition. DIALOGUE: Prepare to recite and deliver the attached monologue in a manner that showcases your speaking skills and overall stage presence. Have fun with it! You are not required to memorize the monologue. Printed copies will be available if you choose to read from the page. In addition to the monologue, you may be asked to read a scene with a partner. Playful, but with a loving, soulful core. Although raised in privilege as a prince of Egypt, Moses discovers that he was born a slave. Called upon by God, Moses grows into a strong and compassionate leader of the Hebrew people. High tenor voice and a large range.
A prince of Egypt and heir to the throne who loves his brother Moses. He is competitive and eager to please his father, but is wracked with self-doubt. Ramses eventually becomes leader of the Egyptians. He is a strong tenor with a well-developed lower range.
