Children Needed for "A Christmas Carol" Play

Lincoln, NH, United States
ID: 592931Exp: 11/2/2025
Description:

Seeking kids ages 8-16 for "A Christmas Carol" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: When you arrive, you (and a parent) will have to fill out a form. Please feel free to bring a resume if you have one (not required). During the audition, directors will teach music to the group, and each performer will need to sing solo. They will also do “cold readings,” which means they will give you a page of script and ask you to read for different characters. Performers will be released as we finish with them. Please note, directors are only looking for 3 – 5 performers, so not everyone will get cast; however, this is an excellent opportunity to gain important auditioning experience, even if you don’t get cast in the show this year. VERY IMPORTANT: These professional shows are performed by adult performers mostly from NYC. The professional schedule is very different from a community or school show schedule. You will rehearse for only 2 weeks, almost every day, from November 29 to December 11. Local children would only be called to rehearsals when needed, which would not take place during school hours; however, in a professional schedule, we often can’t confirm the exact times until we start the process and see how far we get each day. So, any youth performers auditioning would need to be available when we need them during those two weeks. Additionally, while public performances are December 12 through 14 and 19 through 21, there are 2 – 3 student matinees, which would require youth performers to miss school. One is on Friday, December 12, at 10:00 AM, and another is on Wednesday, December 17, at 10:00 AM. Thursday, December 18 at 10 AM is a possible third student matinee, based on interest. We won’t know for sure until tech week. The General Schedule (based on last year) would look like this: Rehearsal Schedule: Saturday, November 29: Possible rehearsal 12:30 – 4 PM Sunday, November 30: Possible rehearsal 1:30 – 4 PM Monday, December 1: Possible rehearsal 5 – 7 PM Tuesday, December 2: Possible rehearsal 5 – 9 PM Wednesday, December 3: DAY OFF Thursday, December 4: Possible rehearsal 5 – 8 PM Friday, December 5: Possible rehearsal 5 – 8 PM Saturday, December 6: Possible rehearsal 3 – 9 PM Sunday, December 7: Possible rehearsal 3 – 9 PM Monday, December 8: DAY OFF Tech Week (we will always attempt to get youth performers out earlier when possible) Tuesday, December 9: Tech Rehearsal 5 – 9 PM Wednesday, December 10: Tech Rehearsal 5 – 10 PM Thursday, December 11: Final Dress Rehearsal 5 – 10 PM Show Schedule Friday, December 12: 10 AM Student Matinee Performance & 7:30 Opening Night Performance Saturday, December 13: 2 PM Matinee Performance & 7:30 PM Evening Performance Sunday, December 14: 2 PM Matinee Performance Wednesday, December 17: 10 AM Student Matinee Performance Thursday, December 18: POSSIBLE 10 AM Student Matinee Performance: Friday, December 19: 7:30 Evening Performance Saturday, December 20: 2 PM Matinee Performance & 7:30 PM Evening Performance: Sunday, December 21: 2 PM Matinee Performance See the attachment for details.
