Inspired by the genius of Roald Dahl, Matilda the Musical is a Tony Award–winning hit from the Royal Shakespeare Company that celebrates the power of imagination, the anarchy of childhood, and the inspiring story of a brilliant little girl with with extraordinary gifts. With a witty book by Dennis Kelly and unforgettable songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda is packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy tunes, and plenty of girl-power spirit. Audiences of all ages will be delighted by this joyous tale of courage, cleverness, and the magic of rewriting your own story. Additional info: Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time and stay until the end time. Early arrival ensures time for parking and paperwork. Audition materials will be available in the drop-box outside the theater door at least 2 weeks before audition dates. Please only take one copy of the role(s) you are auditioning for. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song from the show or in a similar style. Below are song suggestions for each character. These are just suggestions! You are welcome to sing any song that showcases your voice and personality best. Please bring sheet music for the provided accompanist. Sheet music is preferred but a track will be accommodated if necessary. Bring comfortable clothes and shoes for the dance portion of the audition.
