About the project: Troy Bolton, the star basketball captain, and Gabriella Montez, the academically gifted new girl, shatter East High's cliques when they secretly audition for the school musical. Their brave choice to follow a new path causes an uproar, challenging the school's rigid social hierarchy—from the drama club to the jocks and the brainiacs. This production is a vibrant, fun, and energetic reminder that you don't have to choose between your friends, your interests, or your dreams. It's time to Break Free and celebrate being yourself! Additional info: Wednesday, 11/30, 2:30-5:00 pm — Callbacks (invite only) Everyone is welcome to attend the dance call. Not everyone will receive a callback invitation. This session is only for performers invited back for reading and singing. Materials (sides and music cuts) will be provided for those invited to callbacks. Performance & Rehearsal Schedule Performances: Weekends of Jan 24–Feb 1, 2025 Rehearsals: December (beginning Dec 8): ~3 days/week January: ~4 days/week (Note: try to accommodate personal schedule conflicts — you may not be called to every rehearsal.) Tech Week: Jan 19–22, 6:00 pm–10:30 pm Attendance: Tech week and all performance dates are mandatory. If you cannot attend those critical dates, you will not be cast. Audition Instructions Prepare 16 bars (~30 seconds) of a song in the style of High School Musical (please do not pick a song from the show) that highlights your vocal strengths. Backing Track Required: There will be NO live accompanist. Please bring your music track on a phone or other device, ready to play through our sound system. If interested, please apply.

Soprano (F3-E5) The new girl in school. Pretty, shy, and smart, she is trying to blend in but finds herself drawn to Troy and the musical.
Mezzo-Soprano (A3-F5) The egocentric diva of the Drama Club. Ryan's older twin, she thinks being the musical star defines her.
Tenor/Baritone (B3-B5) Sharpay's fraternal twin. He lives under her shadow but yearns to change. Dedicated to choreography.
Tenor (A3-B5) Troy's best friend and star basketball player. Slowly coming to understand there is more to the world than winning.
Soprano/Mezzo (G3-C5) The competitive head Brainiac and President of the Science Club. Convinces Gabriella to join her team.
Tenor (B3-G5) A basketball player with a crush on Sharpay and a secret love for baking. Energetic and charismatic.
Soprano (A3-D5) The shy rehearsal pianist and student composer. Underneath her exterior, she is an outspoken firecracker.
Tenor (B3-G5) The P.A. Announcer. Shy and insecure off the mic, but smooth and confident as the "Velvet Fog."
