About the project: JIMMY’S PLACE is an original inclusive musical about 14-year-old Jimmy Carlisle, a wheelchair-using dreamer who discovers a magical nightclub where he’s the star. The show blends humor, heart, and hope with a pop-theatre score celebrating identity, family, and belonging. This virtual reading brings together Kansas City–area artists and nationwide talent to help further develop this powerful new musical. What to Prepare • 16–32 bars of any song (a cappella or backing track). • A short cold read (sides provided at appointment). • Let us know your availability — we’ll make it work! Rehearsals • 2–3 short Zoom rehearsals will be scheduled around cast availability before the reading.
