About the project: Set in England in 1910, Bert — a jack-of-all-trades — introduces us to the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many nannies packing before Mary Poppins mysteriously arrives at their doorstep. She must teach the family members how to value each other once again by reminding them what love is, and what community really means. Experience the spectacle of this chimney-sweeping epic as we traverse the rooftops of London, meeting colorful characters in a fantastical and magical world. Believe in the magic of Mary Poppins and discover a world where anything can happen if you open your heart to it. This beloved classic is a “jolly holiday” for the entire family. Narrator of the story. One of Mary Poppin's dearest friends, and an everyman. He has great charm. Strong singing, acting, and movement.
The father of Jane and Michael Banks, a Banker to the very fiber of his being. Demanding "precision and order" in his household, loves his pipe and slippers at home, and doesn't have much to do with his children. He believes he had the perfect upbringing by his own Nanny, the cruel Miss Andrew. Behind his emotional;l armor lies a sensitive soul. Sings a bit, strong actor.
George's wife and Jane and Michael's mother. A former actress, she is loving and a distracted homemaker as she tries to live up to George's desire to only associate with the "best people." She strives to be the model wife and mother. She struggles with feelings of inadequacy at being "Mrs. Banks" however she is practically perfect for the role. Great warmth, simplicity, and strong actress.
High spirited daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Banks. Bright and precocious, but can also be snobby and willful.
Cute and cheeky son of Mr and Mrs Banks, and little brother to Jane. Excitable and naughty, he adores his father and tries to be like him. Both he and Jane often misbehave to try to gain attention from their parents.

Houseboy to the Banks Family. Lazy, sleepy, and grumbling he never gets things right and believes himself to be useless.
