About the project: A young child trapped in a decaying farmhouse endures the suffocating control of his deranged mother, all while being stalked by a sinister scarecrow who rules the surrounding fields. Tormented by Mother’s whispers of eternal confinement, and the scarecrow’s unblinking gaze the child turns to its terrifying presence in a desperate bid to reclaim power; using horror itself to strike back against their oppressor. Claustrophobic, haunting, and visceral, the film explores isolation, control, and the corruption of innocence within a nightmarish world. Rate: Union Not Designated. Honorarium Rates. LEAD ROLE. Androgynous, wide-eyed, and fragile in appearance, yet with a deep reservoir of resilience beneath the surface. The Child lives under Mother’s iron grip in a household defined by fear and control. Innocent but wildly perceptive, they navigate terror while quietly nurturing a survival instinct that grows in urgency as the nightmare deepens. Must be able to convey innocence and vulnerability, but also an evolving strength, culminating in a transformation from prey to predator.
