About the project: "The Weight of His Silence" explores male childhood sexual abuse through the story of Jermaine, who confronts the secret of his former abusive relationship as he prepares for fatherhood. The film challenges the silence around men's trauma and the societal myths that reframe abuse as a rite of passage. Rate: ACTRA Tier 4. Paid ($200/day), IMDB Credit. Additional information: Shoot Dates: December 18-21, 2025 (will not be needed for all 4 days). Shoot Location: House in GTA. To play 12. Jermaine is an innocent and impressionable boy, full of admiration for the people closest to him. He deeply loves and respects his mother, yet he also harbors confused feelings toward his Aunt Charlene, with his childlike understanding of love. When his Aunt Charlene dies, Jermaine is left traumatized and guilt-ridden, burying his feelings and the truth deep within himself, beginning a lifelong silence that shapes his adulthood.
