"Gypsy" Musical Needs Boys and Girls
Seeking talent ages eight and up for "Gypsy" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Auditions for children 8 - 15 will be held for the first hour of each audition day - Please ONLY prepare “Let Me Entertain You” measures 7-39 (sing both June and Louise). The sheet music for this can be located in attachment. Auditioners aged 16+: please come with TWO audition cuts that showcase your range, each roughly 45 seconds in length, in the style of the show - One slow ballad - One faster, more upbeat If you need help finding a song in the style of the show, here are some shows that have music in a similar style to Gypsy: Funny Girl, Bells are Ringing, Mame, Sweet Charity, Anything Goes, Follies, Company, Cabaret, Chicago, 42nd Street, The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, Curtains, Bring any conflicts with you from November 3 - February 22 (even if there is no rehearsal scheduled on the draft rehearsal schedule). Rehearsals are scheduled to start on November 3, 2025. For the months of November and December, rehearsals will consist of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Starting January 5, rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. All rehearsals until you get to Tech Week will be held from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Rehearsals will be carefully scheduled. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Each performer is REQUIRED to attend on Saturday, 2 January, in the afternoon set build/craft days. Seeking an actor to play Baby June as a young teenager. The older she gets, the less she enjoys being her mother's trained monkey. Strong Alto, must be able to belt a song and have decent dancing skills. The ability to do the splits and twirl a baton is a big plus, but not a requirement. Must dance very well, taps, strong Broadway singer, close harmony skills preferred.
