Seeking young performers for "Newsies" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience. Additional info: All roles are open, Non AEA. Prepare 16-32 bars of sheet music/vocal in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided, no a Capella pieces please. Backup tracks and Karaoke tracks are not allowed. Initial auditions will include an ALL CALL dance call. Please bring audition form, headshot, and resume to audition. Please download the attached audition for, complete and bring it to the auditions. Callbacks By Invitation Only: Wednesday October 22 6pm- 10:30 pm. Rehearsals: Tuesday, May 25, 2025 through Thursday, July 23, 2026. Performances: There will be an invited Dress/Preview Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 7:30pm.
