"A Christmas Story: The Musical" Needs Boys and Girls
Kids ages 6-17 are welcome to audition for "A Christmas Story: The Musical." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A Christmas Story: The Musical follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker in 1940s Indiana as he tries to convince everyone to get him an Official Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, encountering iconic moments from the film like the infamously large leg lamp, a disastrous visit to Santa, and a “triple-dog-dare” on a frozen flagpole. Set in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical brings the classic story to life with songs that express Ralphie’s vivid imagination and capture the universal triumphs and chaos of a childhood Christmas. Additional info: Please prepare a 3-4 minute song of your choice. Bring sheet music for the accompanist and be ready to clearly indicate the tempo and any cuts. Dance Auditions Please come in clothes that you can move in. REHEARSALS begin Sunday, October 12th. Rehearsals are typically Sunday - Thursday, 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Rehearsals may be called outside these days and times with sufficient notice. Cute and winsome, but not precious. Bright, but not precocious. A regular kid you wouldn't mind having as a next-door neighbor. A bit mischievous but with a twinkle in his eye. Minimal dancing. Vocal range is F#3 to D5.

The textbook example of a schoolyard, except that he doesn't go to school. He is loud, obnoxious, and intimidating. Older than Ralphie and his classmates by a year or two. He always appears at the most inopportune times to scare and harass his innocent victims.
Always at Farkus' side is his sidekick, Dill. Much younger and decidedly smaller than Farkus, Dill delights in being tethered to his "hero."
