Boys and Girls Needed for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Play
Kids ages 8-17 are invited to audition for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Middle school, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbor, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg…no way. Jeff Kinney’s popular character takes center stage as Greg’s cartoon diary becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical. Will Greg’s plans to become popular lead him to sacrifice his one true friend? Can anyone avoid the dreaded Cheese Touch? Grab a hall pass and don’t be late for an adventure familiar to anyone who actually survived middle school. Additional info: For Music, you may choose one of three audition cuts attached. All rehearsal conflicts MUST be communicated on the audition form. Rehearsals will dominantly be held Monday-Thursday 6:30-9:30, and some weekends but you could be called for any day. ALL conflicts must be listed, including weekends. NO SHOWS or Tech Week rehearsals can be missed. Multiple conflicts brought up after casting can result in dismissal from the cast or recasting. This is at the discretion of the production team. (Note that children cast in A Christmas Carol will not be able to audition for Wimpy Kid because of rehearsal conflicts). All auditioners will be asked to sing one of the provided music selections and to participate in a dance audition. Please BRING: comfortable shoes (sneakers or dance shoes.
