"Charlotte’s Web" Play Needs Boys and Girls
Kids ages 8 and up are welcome to audition for "Charlotte’s Web" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: The Charlotte's Web play follows Wilbur the pig's journey from being a runt nearly killed by his farmer to being saved by his friend Charlotte, a wise spider who spins messages of "Some Pig" and "Terrific" into her web to make him famous and spare his life. The story highlights themes of friendship, loyalty, and self-sacrifice, culminating in Charlotte's death after ensuring Wilbur's survival and the continuation of her family line through her egg sac, which contains new life. An eight-year-old girl who saves Wilbur from being killed as a piglet. Fern is compassionate and kind and quickly bonds with Wilbur as she cares for him. She loves animals and spends much of her time in the Zuckermans’ barn. She considers the barn animals her best friends.
Fern's older brother who has a lot of energy and finds adventures wherever he goes.
A very childlike character, Wilbur is lighthearted and playful. He desires friends and frequently pursues friendships with those around him. After forming a close bond with Fern and then seeing her regularly, he feels the loneliness of trying to make new friends. He is easily excitable and has much to learn. Two actors may be cast to reflect younger and older Wilbur.

A rat that lives in the Zuckerman barn. Templeton is selfish and only does things to help others when he knows it will benefit him as well. He is known for being sneaky and is not trusted by the other animals in the barn. However, his cunning and tendency to collect things makes him useful. We are looking for a strong character actor.
A spider that lives in the doorway of the barn at Zuckerman’s farm. Charlotte is kind, knowledgeable, and wise. She befriends Wilbur and proves herself to be both a faithful friend and a patient teacher. She is clever and comes up with an idea to save Wilbur’s life. Must be agile and vocally stable. This is a physical role.
Caring but focused on her goslings. She is helpful and wants to protect Wilbur from knowing "what's coming."
Helps his partner goose with their goslings. He tends to be a follower of Goose.
They are friends and realists. They don't understand why everyone is fussing over Wilbur. However, they can't help getting a little excited once a plan to save Wilbur is hatched.
