Playhouse is proud to announce its upcoming auditions for "Miracle On 34th Street" the play. Looking for child actors. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Synopsis: Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home, gets a job working as Santa for Macy’s. Kris unleashes waves of goodwill with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris committed to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing. Especially at stake is one little girl’s belief in Santa. Additional info: Audition Details & Preparation: Open call auditions, in-person only. All roles are open for this terrific show. No appointment is needed. Actors will be seen in order of arrival. Actors will be given sides to read from the script. A callback audition, if needed, will be held by invitation only. Age ranges listed are stage ages. Although this is not a musical, directors plan on having holiday carols sung during certain scene changes by a few cast members. Singing will not be part of the audition, but if you want to sing a few bars of carol A Capella, they won’t object. Callbacks by invitation: Monday, October 19, 7pm-9pm. Doris’ daughter. Smart. She doesn’t believe in Santa because she has been raised to be a “realist”. Wise for her age, but still a young child who wishes for love and home, as many of us have.
There are several speaking roles for children and teens who also appear as extras in other scenes.
