Boys Needed for "What the Light Touches" Short Film Series
Chicago filmmakers are currently casting for an episode of a short film series entitled What the Light Touches. We are looking for two boys for this episode entitled "Don't Go Yet." This will be a 4-hour shoot on a Sunday in November (exact date TBD) in the Chicagoland area. While it’s an unpaid opportunity, it offers a valuable chance for students to gain on-set experience and build strong material for reels. What the Light Touches is a series of 2–3 minute films, exploring how specific moments in our lives shape who we become. These shorts will be visually rich stories told primarily through action with minimal dialogue.

Timid and anxious, Daniel struggles to stand up for himself, especially when it comes to his friend Sam. Over the course of the short, Daniel slowly begins to find his voice as he grows more discontented with the way Same treats him. In the end, Daniel falters, caught between his desire for self-determination and the pull of their bond.
Confident yet volatile, Sam holds a powerful sway over Daniel—at times protective, at times manipulative. Beneath the bravado lies a fear of abandonment, which drives his need to control the friendship. When Daniel begins to assert his independence, Sam grows more agitated, giving us a glimpse of the fragility beneath.
