About the project: Set in Pittsburgh during the Great Depression, the play follows the Charles family as they wrestle with what to do with their most treasured heirloom—the family piano. For Boy Willie, selling it means buying land and shaping his future. For his sister Berniece, keeping it means holding on to the stories and sacrifices of their past. Between them stands their uncle Doaker—and the voices of generations that cannot be silenced. Additional info: What to Prepare: A short (1–2 minute) memorized monologue. Be ready to read from the script if called back (sides provided). Wear something comfortable-you’ll want to move and feel at ease. Callbacks: Tuesday, October 7 | 6 p.m. Rehearsals: Evenings, Sunday–Friday from 6:00–9:00 PM. We’ll create the schedule around cast availability and are happy to work with conflicts.
