"Irving Berlin’s White Christmas" Play Seeks Teens
Auditions are open to actors 16 years old and older. There is one role for an adolescent girl. Please see the details below. About the project: Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages. Additional info: Performance Dates: December 5 - December 14. You will be asked to fill out an audition form. You may attach a resume and picture if you wish (it is not required). Please bring a calendar that includes conflicts. You will have your picture taken, and a number will be assigned to you. Auditions will consist of a music audition and (if you are auditioning for a speaking role) a cold reading audition. Please prepare a song excerpt (approx. 1-2 minutes) for your music audition. Music should be Disney, Broadway, or Jazz Standard style, but NOT a song from Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. You may bring your phone with lyrics, a CD, or sheet music for our accompanist. The Director requests that you not sing a cappella. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be held Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons. ALL cast members MUST attend the first rehearsal to receive your materials, take costume measurements, and complete any paperwork. If interseetd, pelase apply.
