Seeking teens to perform in "Into The Woods" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Fairy tales collide in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s captivating musical, Into the Woods. When a baker and his wife venture into the woods to lift a witch’s curse, they collide with Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), and Rapunzel, each on their own quest to fulfill their deepest wish. As their stories intertwine, they must confront their deepest fears and desires, learning that every wish has a price and that sometimes the things you wish for are not what you truly need. Filled with wit, charm, and a touch of darkness, Into the Woods is a magical theatrical experience that is sure to leave you spellbound. Additional info: Prepare: A 30-60 second cut of a musical theater song to be sung with piano accompaniment or track. You may sing from the show if you’d like, but it is not required. Please bring sheet music for accompaniment (accompanist will be provided) or a track that can be played from your phone and connected to a wireless Bluetooth speaker. Tip: Generally, 30 seconds of a song is about 16-32 bars depending on tempo. Don’t be afraid to time yourself singing it to make sure. When in doubt while selecting, use the 1-and-1 Rule: one verse & the chorus. Appropriate and comfortable attire for a short movement exercise. Together, each 30-minute group will spend the first 10-15 minutes of their slot participating in a guided imagination-driven exercise that will ask you to move throughout the space and use your body, without words or sound, to explore the woods as one of the fairytale characters from the show. Prior to your audition, please complete the attached audition form and bring it with you or arrive early to complete a form available at the welcome table.
