"Puffs" Show Needs Teen Actors
Seeking actors in grades 9-12 from Kiski Area HS for "Puffs" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed or endorsed by J.K Rowling, Warner Bros. or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play. Additional info: Callbacks will be the following day on Wednesday, September 10th from 6pm-9pm. Read-through will now be Monday, September 22nd at 6pm in the Chorus Room. Parent Meeting - Monday, September 22nd 6-7pm in the Mirror Room. Show dates: November 6th, 7th, and 8th - to be considered for the show, you must be able to attend all show dates. Set Strike date: Sunday November 9th -This is required. Rehearsals will begin September 22nd. You must be able to attend all rehearsals scheduled between October 27 until opening night. The hero. Totally uncool, but full of charm and heart. Loyal to a tee. Likes comic books and video games, knows nothing about magic or this weird magic world he is now a part of. Best friends with Oliver and Megan.
One of the main trio. Incredibly smart and cerebral, he is a math wiz, and proud of it; lovingly a nerd from New Jersey. After ending up at wizarding school, he finds out he isn’t the top of his class, and instead begins a fantastical journey of friendship and even some love, better than any algebra class could ever promise. Real comic chops, incredibly appealing, youthful.
One of the main trio; begins the show by only desiring to live up to her mother’s reputation: a dark wizard currently in Wiz Priz for being a Death Buddy in her youth. Favorite store: Hot Topic. Favorite color: black. Over time, her tough veneer begins to soften, as a budding romance with Oliver becomes apparent. Defiant and headstrong on the surface, the audience begins to see that her adamance of being completely unique and independent really stems from her desire to be loved and accepted.
The narrator of the story. She/he guides us through our entire show of Puffy-ness. British accent. Must be a great storyteller, as she/he must keep the audience engaged and updated on all the goings-on. Can be a bit of a know-it-all, but still relatable and appealing. Comedy and improv skills are a must.
A little distant. A little random. Is possibly a genius or really, really stupid. Energetic and very excitable. She’s lived in a cabin in the woods her whole life and has never been around other children until being sent to Magic School. Probably the most innocent and pure of heart Puff. The Puffiest of the Puffs.
Proud. Loud. Irish boy who fancies himself as “the best Puff”.
A socially awkward and painfully shy Puff. She doesn’t have the best social cues.
Boyish & fun. The youngest puff. Chipper and happy except, when his life is in mortal danger. Very sweet and fun loving. Ernie’s best friend.
A near-sighted Puff who refuses to wear her glasses. She has a crush on Wayne and would do anything for him to notice.
Sad. Gloomy. Think Eeyore from “Winnie the Pooh.” Constantly in fear of her or her family dying. She has a lot of scary stories about her wizarding family and their bad luck.
A champion. Athletic, winning, popular, and charming. Everyone’s favorite, but still loyal, patient, and kind. A leading example of a Puff.
Evil. Like, reeeaaally evil. Wants to rule the world in shadows and darkness and terror.
A certain “Boy who Lived”. A well-meaning, but cocky boy who rules the school like he owns it. Doesn’t seem to notice the Puffs at all.

A shy and unconfident student.
Harry’s archrival. Very full of himself.
Ron Wesley’s sister. Kind of annoying. Wayne has a crush on her.

Totally the same Headmaster of a Certain School of Magic and Magic. Nothing different about him at all, no sir. We definitely didn’t change actors midway through the show. Angrier and more active than First Headmaster.
