About the project: "Secrets Lie Beyond" is a two act dark fantasy musical. It follows the story of a boy named Silas, a year and a half after his mother's disappearance. When signs from his mother start to appear, he sets out to find her. On his journey, he must journey to another land, the Forest of the Fae. A place where magic thrives, and mortals die. Along the way, Silas meets a strange boy named Wally, a kid who has no memories of his own. Soon enough, they team up to find Silas's mom, and Wally's memories, all while on the run from an evil empress destined for revenge. Additional info: Please prepare a song to audition with. This can either be one of the characters featured songs, a song of your choice or both! You will also be asked to do a "cold read" from the script. A cold read is when an actor is asked to read from a part of the script they haven't seen. Audition materials are attached. Performances will be held in DeKalb Illinois and the surrounding area across two weekends. November 14th, 15th, and 16th, and November 21st and November 22nd. The first weekend will perform on the stage at the DeKalb Area Woman's Center, the second weekend will perform at a few different local libraries. Rehearsals will be held at the DeKalb Area Woman's Center in DeKalb Illinois. Starting in September, directors will meet three times a week. Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. Dates subject to change.
